Hi! I'm Dr. Vanessa Stretton. I opened EAST in April 2019 to continue the work of helping people feel better using natural and evidence based methods. I wanted to practice in a way that allowed enough time for my patients and their practitioner to feel nurtured and relaxed. EAST is a place where you will never feel like just a number.

I have extensive experience and continuing education in the specialties of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and trauma. I consider myself a guide for healing journeys and a fertility doula.

It is my mission to hold space for people to enjoy their healing journey, to be able to access a relaxed state through the process, whether it's for fertility, trauma, pain, or whatever it may be. I take tremendous pride in this work. I want my patients to feel heard, feel restored and be able to heal. I believe healing makes the world a better place.

I work to create a safe and comfortable environment in which you can truly show up as yourself, and know that you will be accepted and seen just as you are.  My approach is warm and authentic - I want the therapeutic experience to be as enjoyable as it is helpful.  I am trained in EMDR therapy and use an approach tailored to your needs and who you are as a person.  I want therapy to be so much more than sitting in front of you and asking “ does that make you feel?” If you’re interested in integrating art, play, movement, music, sand tray, or spiritual practices into our work - let’s do it!  We all deserve to take up space in ways that feel good.

While I have experience working with all ages, my true passion is working with teens and young adults in the following areas: self-esteem, food and body image issues, boundaries, stress, and life transitions.

I work with adult individuals, couples and families who are interested in moving towards a place of healing by way of exploration, insight, and self-compassion. I take great value in helping clients develop and lean into self-agency.

Areas of special interest include relational distress, self-esteem, trauma, body image, process and substance addiction, LGBTQIA, and multicultural issues. I believe all relationship structures work and enjoy supporting couples navigate conflict more effectively. I am poly and kink-friendly!

Some might describe my way of being as authentic, relatable, empathic, and direct yet gentle. As your trauma and trans-informed therapist, I will balance this way of being with professionalism in order to create a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere where you will feel seen, heard and understood.
